Hello, I'm Glad You're Here

Hi. I’m Kelli Curtin and I am the person behind Cook with Compassion. Let me tell you a bit about myself.

My personal motto: Treat ALL beings with kindness and compassion.

I started this blog to share my passion of cooking and my love of animals. I became vegan in 2019 and my vegan journey started with a tour of a local farm sanctuary and meeting a goat, Livingston aka Livvie, who I bonded with immediately. This interaction started me down a path of researching what impact animal agriculture has on our bodies and the planet. As well as why do we choose to consume animals or animal products? What impact would a vegan diet have on my health?

I truly believe that every living being deserves love and kindness. I have witnessed animals arriving at a farm sanctuary being tortured and starved, and after proper medical treatment and being surrounded by love and kindness they begin to thrive and trust others. It is amazing to witness. I speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves because they deserve a long and good life where they can eat grass and frolic with their friends in the sun.

When I am not in my kitchen creating delicious vegan food, I can be found reading, spending time with my husband and our three cats or going to see a Broadway show. I am also a volunteer at Lancaster Farm Sanctuary where I am usually hanging out with a few of my goat friends.

I am inspired by the work of those who advocate for the animals, farm sanctuaries and those who create amazing looking plant-based food.

Going vegan has completely changed my life and my way of thinking. I hope by sharing my journey and stories of my animal friends I can inspire others to adopt a vegan lifestyle
